This 5-week online discussion group facilitated by Dr. John Stracks will address different strategies to help you overcome the psychological barriers keeping you from healing.

Studies from the past 20 years have shown that the experience of pain has more to do with our thoughts and feelings than with any specific physical injury or disease. Using a combination of speakers sharing their stories, guided exercises, and time for questions, this online Mind-Body Medicine class will teaches you to recognize the thoughts and feelings that contribute to symptoms and the knowledge of how that recognition can lead to long-lasting physical relief. This alternating series of two classes offers different content for each 5-week session: Session A focuses on writing, meditation, self-talk, and self-compassion, while Session B encompasses emotions, boundaries, and catastrophizing. You are welcome to register for one or both sessions.

The Mind-Body Medicine Class can also be paired with the concurrent Mind-Body Medicine Discussion Group or taken separately. Note that there is a $100 discount to register for both the class and discussion group concurrently. An individual consultation with Dr. Stracks is recommended before joining the group, and listening to the Mind-Body Medicine Lecture before the class begins is encouraged for best results.
