John Stracks, MD, has been interested in Mind-Body Medicine his entire medical career, having healed his own chronic health issues this way over 20 years ago. During his residency and fellowship at the University of Michigan, he worked with two pioneers in the field: Dr. John Sarno and Dr. Howard Schubiner. He moved to Chicago in 2009 to begin his practice at Northwestern Hospital. Since that time, he's evaluated and worked with over a thousand patients looking for Mind-Body Medicine consultations for chronic symptoms. In 2017, he opened the only Mind-Body Medicine treatment center in the Chicago area and currently sees patients there full-time. When he's not working, you can find him spending time with his family, practicing tai chi, barbecuing, and coaching and cheerleading for youth sports.
